Must ask questions from a wedding photographer

Wedding is certainly the biggest day in one’s life and so requires extensive planning and careful attention to even the minutest of the details. Wedding photography is one such integral element which plays a pivotal role in the overall success of a marriage ceremony. So, it is therefore very important to speak to the wedding photographer in detail before zeroing in or finalizing anyone for the crucial day.

Here’s a list of a few must ask queries that one must put up before a wedding photographer:

1. Can you review the photos of entire wedding proceedings?

You should request to take a look at the images from some of the complete weddings rather than simply sampling of several events. By following this method you can better judge the photographer’s work and caliber as you can have the better overview of entire events of the wedding like the ceremony, the reception etc.

2. References that can be called?

Just request the photographer to get you to speak with any of the two or three former brides.  You can enquire them about some vital questions like about photographer’s punctuality , his professionalism etc.

3. Who will be photographing my wedding?

In case your photographer works for a large studio, he or she may be one of the many photographers of the organization. Since every photographer has his own unique style of working so it is very important to personally interview the person actually in charge on the big day.

4. The earliest hand over of proofs, prints, and wedding album?

Enquire about photographer’s turnaround time as to how long would he taking to deliver the final album and prints.

5. The number of pictures that would be taken?

Normally a photographer shoots around 500 pictures per wedding on an average basis wedding. As some of the photographers charge per roll so you should find out the charges this way.

6. Enquire about liability insurance?

All your vendors should be insured in case of any mishap. For instance if a guest tumbles over the photographer’s equipment and gets hurt, you could be liable as you hired that person. In such a case photographer’s insurance should cater to the incident.

7. Type of cameras that would be used and kind of backups available in case of   breakdown?

For superior quality pictures, hire someone equipped with latest and top-quality equipment.

8. Number of years of experience in wedding photography?

A talented pro should always be your preference but is necessary to find out that is wedding photography his passion or profession.

9. Overtime charges?

Ensure that the contract clearly specifies the amount of time the photographer would on the job and how much would be charged beyond that time slot.
